Creating a New Read
A "read" is how your club tracks a book you're reading together. It includes the book, the host, the meeting date, and everything your members need to participate.
How to create a read
- From your club's home page, tap the New Read button, or navigate to All Reads and tap + New Read.
- Search for a book by title or author. You can search millions of books from Open Library, or browse NYT Bestseller lists for inspiration.
- Select the host — the person who picked the book and will lead the discussion.
- Optionally set a meeting date and location, or leave these as TBD and create a date poll later.
- Tap Create Read to add it to your club.
From a suggestion
If a club member suggested a book, you can create a read directly from the suggestion. The book details will be pre-filled for you.
Setting a location
You can set the meeting as either a physical location (e.g. someone's home, a cafe) or a video call. Members will see this on the read detail page.
Importing past reads
If your club was reading books before using Team Book Club, the owner can use Import Past Reads from the club home page to batch-add previously completed reads. This helps build up your club's stats and history.
